Dr R Manoharan
Dr R Manoharan served the Indian Air Force for a period of 20 years and retired as a Junior Warrant Officer. He established Monix Learning Centre, a center of linguistic excellence, in Tirupur in the year 2002.

Dr R Manoharan was the only instructor of Monix Learning Centre and Spoken English was the only course offered. Later, some more instructors were trained by him and then more and more batches were handled by them. When the need arose, Spoken Hindi courses were also offered. And as the strength of the learners increased, the first branch was opened at S.R. Nagar, Mangalam Road in the year 2003, which was managed well by his wife Mrs M Rajeswari MA (Linguistics). “MONIX” was registered as a Trade Mark with effect from 12-05-2003.
138 learners were trained in the first year 2002-03. In the year 2007-08, 408 were trained. The strength of the trainees who joined in the year 2008-09 was 500. The second branch was opened at Amarjothi Garden, Kangayam Road in the year 2008 and it was managed in association with Balsham Cultural Centre. The third branch was opened at Vidhyalayam, Palladam Road in the year 2010 which was managed jointly with Angel Computer Centre.

With the service of 7 full-time trainers and 3 part-time trainers, Monix conducted Special Summer Courses for school and college students at all the four centres. In addition, it also took up exclusive batches for school teachers and businessmen who needed training at their own premises. Training was provided at three different levels by means of audio visual aids.
However, the centres in Tirupur were closed in the year 2014 when Dr R Manoharan had to go to Coimbatore in order to pursue his study at Bharathiar University to get a doctorate in English Language Teaching. Monix Learning Centre was re-established in 2017 and exclusive batches were taken up for school teachers, students and businessmen in Tirupur at their own premises until 2019.
In 2020, Monix Learning Centre was shifted to Aliyar, Coimbatore District and a YouTube channel was created in the name of Monix Learning Centre. Since then a number of videos have been uploaded and many more are in the pipeline. In addition, online courses are also conducted for the benefit of students and teachers.
